Warm Winter Solstice Yoga: Yin/Restorative/Nidra

Honor the darkest day of the year and celebrate the sun’s return with nourishing & soothing Yin & Restorative Yoga & deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra. Yin and Restorative poses are passive, done with relaxed muscles & held longer with deep breathing. This allows for the body to release tensions & tightness and to cultivate an inward focus. Through inward awareness, we can balance our predominantly outward focused attention with gentle, compassionate inquiry to what we find in our bodies, hearts & minds. Then, snuggle in with your blanket(s) with Yoga Nidra, a gentle meditation that systematically relaxes & releases each layer of the body & mind. Kindle your inner glow and remember that darkness is another form of light. Please bring yoga mat, blankets (2 if possible), blocks (if you have them) & water. All levels welcome.

Slow down in a nurturing, candlelit room & practice a blend of gentle flow, yin & restorative yoga. Awaken your senses, as the practice is layered with seasonal essential oils. Move, melt & marinate and bring balance & well-being to your body, mind and spirit. All levels are welcome.
Heaven & Earth: Aerial & Floor Yoga Workshop

Experience the union of opposites in this dynamic workshop while we explore how floor yoga & aerial yoga compliment each other. Jayne Dean will guide you in 45 minutes of aerial yoga using the fabric hammock to support the body in traditional & unique postures, followed by 45 minutes of a grounded, floor sequence led by Julie Erasmus. The workshop ends with a deliciously long savasana either floating heavenly in the hammock or rooted on the earth. All levels welcome.

We will begin with yoga, movement & breathwork that will warm & ground you physically & promote detoxification. Incorporating your own healing touch, we will practice self-massage & acupressure to take you deeper within to free up toxins & other materials that are stuck, & to stimulate energies & open pathways to allow healing information to flow more freely throughout the body systems. We will end with deep, nourishing relaxation to quiet the mind & body, producing a healing elixir within & enhancing the flow of vital energies. These methods can be practiced anywhere/anytime to generate personal vitality, balance & well-being.
